Installation
- If the door/door frame halves are together, separate by gently squeezing the left and right sides inward on the inside half while pulling apart. Once the left and right hooks are no longer engaged, push down on the top to disconnect the top hook and the halves will come free.
- If desired, position a wallpaper with the wallpaper cutouts aligned with the corresponding wall cutouts. Make sure the wallpaper does not hang over any edge of the cutouts, or it will get crimped by the door.
- Begin door/door frame installation by putting the outside half (the half with the hooks) into a wall cutout. Doors swing toward the inside half, so choose the desired side of the wall.
- Place the bottom of the inside half onto the bottom hook of the outside half through the wall cutout. Confirm the hook is fully seated.
- Pinch the left and right sides of the inside half inward slightly and push the two halves together. The left and right hooks should click into place.
- Finally, squeeze the top edge of the outside and inside half together until the top hook engages. If done correctly, the flange on both the inside and outside should be flush against the wall all the way around. If not, run your fingers around the window edge until it is fully seated.
Removal
- Using the MagSlip Multitool or a thin blunt object like a fingernail, slide underneath the left edge of the inside half of the door frame, pressing inward while prying away from the wall until the hook disengages. Take care not to scuff or tear any wallpaper.
- Repeat this on the right side.
- Press down from the top of the inside half and pry away from the wall until the hook disengages.
- Lift the inside half off the bottom hook, and remove the outside half.
Changing Door Handles
- Using the MagSlip Multitool or a thin blunt object like a fingernail, slide underneath the small plate behind the handle on one side of the door and gently pry outward. The two door handle plates should slide apart.
- Insert one half of the new door handle into one side of the door.
- Insert the other half of the new door handle into the other side of the door, making sure both sides are rotated to be parallel with the door.
- Squeeze until both sides are secure and flush with the door.
Changing Door Facades
- Remove the door handle as described above.
- Using the MagSlip Multitool or a thin blunt object like a fingernail, slide beneath one door facade from the edge and disengage the magnets.
- Push the facade on the other half off its magnets through the door frame.
- Align the door handle holes in the new facades with the door handle hole in the door frame and attach via magnets.
- Reattach the door handle as described above.
Notes
- Doors only open one way, do not force the hinge the wrong way, and keep orientation in mind when installing into a wall.
- Doors made of wood/plastic hybrid are softer and more fragile than the plastic varieties, be gentle when installing/removing or the hooks can break.
